Quattlebaum Foretich Gallery is pleased to present Message in a Bottle, curated by Lori Zimmer at SCOPE Miami Beach 2013.  Message in a Bottle explores the romantic history of blindly throwing messages to sea, leaving it to the hands of fate to deliver them to their intended recipient. Visitors are invited into a maritime ship chandlery, where contemporary artists have created their own message for the ages, captured inside bottles and waiting to be unlocked by their new owners. A special animation by Beau Stanton will further the seafaring fantasy.

Lori Zimmer is a New York based arts writer, curator and happenings planner. She has written for Patrick McMullan Mag, ArtSlant, Artfetch, Creem, WhiteHot, Flavorpill, Inhabitat, Frisky and Ecouterre, and is the founder of Art Nerd New York, an art and art history guide that has recently expanded to Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle and San Francisco. Art Nerd is also part of Google’s geolocation app, Field Trip. Zimmer has curated shows in New York and Europe, as well as Scope International Art Fairs in New York and Miami.
